Sarah Martin

I am a second year PhD student at the University of Bristol, supervised by Matthew Tointon. My research mainly concerns studying groups from both a geometric and probabilistic perspective. In particular, I am currently studying how geodesics behave in groups of polynomial growth, and studying percolation on lamplighter groups.

I will be co-organising the Bristol Junior Geometry Seminar (BRIJGES) alongside Merlin Haith Rowlatt from Autumn 2025. If you would like to give a talk, suggest a speaker, or sign up to the seminar mailing list, please contact us.

I co-organised the 26th Edition of the Postgraduate Group Theory Conference (PGTC) alongside Marina Anagnostopoulou-Merkouri, Pénélope Azuelos, David Guo, Merlin Haith Rowlatt and Hongyi Huang. The conference took place in Bristol on the 1st - 4th July 2025.
